Discovery

Know Your Florida School displays the Florida Department of Education’s annual school grades data. The UX involved included visualizing data, comparing schools, advanced search, and responsive design. I conducted interviews and ran wireframe meetings with the client to understand how to graph the data.

Search UI

We designed autocomplete search into the site so a user could search by School Name, Address, and District. We designed the search results page to have robust filtering options for quick navigation. When the user selects a search path they are taken to a results page. The filter page includes more options for users to refine their results and allows users to add schools to the comparison cart.

Data Visualization

While the Development team handled testing of search, comparison, and filtering, I began work on data visualizations. The best way to do this was sketching, taking photos, and sending them over to the client for quick reviews. We also worked with the Design team to figure out how the report card would look and function.
